Mentor Teaching Moves: Rise and Shine #T4TMoments

A wise teacher shared her motto with us recently – You have to rise and shine each day.

Teaching is more than content knowledge, lesson plans, and management skills.  Kids run to school each day to learn because they know there is a teacher there who is ready for them.  A teacher who cares about them.  A teacher who thinks about them after the bell rings at the end of the day.  A teacher who remembers to check-in with them.  A teacher who has an encouraging smile at the ready.  A teacher who can assess the situation with one look.  A teacher who rises and shines each day to engage, teach and inspire.

Rising and shining each day for each student – that is a mentor teaching move for sure!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week – thank you for all you do every day!
