It’s Monday! This Dynamic Duo is LOL #IMWAYR #BuildYourStack #itsallaboutthebooks

If you want a fun read aloud for first, second, and third graders, don’t miss Sir Simon: Super Scarer.  Kids will fall in love with Sir Simon and Chester’s endearing personalities and many children will relate to the lessons Sir Simon learns.  We will also pull this book out as a mentor text to get kids thinking about how to use speech bubbles, ellipses, charts, and panels in fiction stories.

Cale Atkinson, please write more stories about Sir Simon and Chester.  Kids love this dynamic duo and they have so much to learn from their friendship.  Here is the Kirkus Review and a link to Cale Atkinson’s website where you can learn more about Cale’s artwork and picture books.

I also would love to see more books about Sir Simon and Chester! My most borrowed books are those that are funny. I love when kids bring them back still laughing.

Sir Simon looks just right for my 1st-grade granddaughter. And I just checked out Winnie’s Great War at my library, looking forward to it! Thanks!

I just finished Winnie’s Great War a couple weeks ago and am heading off to look into Sir Simon: Super Scarer. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful reading week, Clare and Tammy!

Not to brag or anything, but Cale Atkinson is from my province, so we’re practically neighbours. OK, that second part isn’t true, but I’m so glad to see all the success he’s been getting, because he’s so, so talented!

We didn’t know he is from your province. He has published so many books in the last few months – they are all amazing!

I have our third grade teachers reading it next week 🙂 I love everything Cale does!
Would love to know what you thought about I Lost My Tooth! I found it to be very busy for young readers, but it seems like everyone else loves it so far!
