This poem warms my heart. I love seeing my son snuggle and play with our pup, Tubbie. Sharing unconditional love with another creature is such an important thing to nurture.
“Loyal friends need no words to connect”-so true!
Nothing better than the love of a pup for his/her human and vice versa. I love the use of poetry to capture this moment. It captures the pace as well as the joy for both of them.
Oh how sweet! I watched a boy and his dog from the rear view mirror in my car at a red light this afternoon. A mom had just picked up her high school-aged son and watching the boy scratch the dog’s head and the dog reciprocating with cheek licks made my afternoon.
Clare, poetry is such a great vehicle to express emotions and themes. Unconditional love is fully shown in your poem. While we cannot have pets, I was swooped right into the scene you set.
