Clare, I’m sorry to learn of your mother’s passing. Even with anticipation, it doesn’t make it any easier. May your friends and family guide your heart and memories. I loved these two phrases about Peg – “Her happiest roles and she was a deeply religious woman.” You’ll carry things from those phrases with you always.

    Hugs, Mandy

    Clare,
I am so very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Your slices about your mom always were so beautiful to read and you were there for her in such important ways. There is nothing like a mother. We lost my precious Grandmother in December and while I feel the loss very much, my mother feels it even more and I miss the two of them together, the buddies they were. A friend recently gave me an article about signs your loved one may send you- be on the lookout for dimes! The article says when you feel you need a sign most, if you find a dime in unexpected places, it is your loved one letting you know she is okay. A few days after my Grandma passed away, I found a magnetic letter G on the floor in a place where we don’t keep letters and no letters were anywhere in sight, other than the G (We called her GG). To me, it was a sign. My mother always tells the story of the rose that bloomed in the cold December after my Grandfather died. She always brought him rose bushes each year and the year he passed away, a beautiful rose unexpectedly bloomed in December. These signs are something to hold onto and while we all have different beliefs about what comes next, I really believe in these signs and a better place for our loved ones who go before us. Prayers for you and your family and please accept my most sincere condolences.
